Delete your Leanmetry account

This page explains how to delete your Leanmetry account and the data linked to it, and what happens to your data afterwards. Leanmetry is developed by Keith.

Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest way. It deletes everything at once.

1. Open Leanmetry and sign in.
2. Open Settings: tap More, then Settings. You can also tap the gear icon on the Dashboard.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Enter your password and tap Delete forever.

You need an internet connection. If a step fails, the app tells you and you can try again. It won't report the account as deleted until it is.

Request deletion without the app

If you can't use the app, for example because you've uninstalled it or lost your phone, email katumaneng24@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Leanmetry account".

• Send it from the email address you use to sign in to Leanmetry, so we can confirm the account is yours.
• If you no longer have access to that address, say so in your email. We'll ask for other details to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything.
• We'll delete your account within 30 days, usually sooner, and email you when it's done.

What gets deleted

• Your login: your email address, your password (managed by Firebase Authentication) and your account ID.
• Everything stored in the cloud for your account: your profile (name, age, sex, height and activity level), check-ins and body measurements, workouts and sets, goals, nutrition logs, training programs, custom exercises, and all notes. This includes entries you deleted earlier.
• When you delete in the app, everything on that phone too: Leanmetry's local data and your progress photos.

What isn't deleted, and for how long

• Data on your phone, if you ask by email. We can't reach your phone. To remove it, uninstall Leanmetry or clear its app data. That also removes your progress photos, which are only ever stored on your phone. Export any photos you want to keep first.
• Your phone's own backup. If your phone backs up apps to your Google account, that backup may contain Leanmetry's on-device data (progress photos are excluded) until it's replaced or you delete it in your Google account or phone settings.
• Copies kept by Google. Leanmetry's cloud runs on Google's Firebase. Google removes your deleted login from its backups within 180 days, keeps the IP addresses Firebase logs when you sign in for a few weeks, and its internal backup copies of your other data expire within about six months. Leanmetry keeps no backups of its own. See Firebase privacy and security.
• Your deletion request email. We keep it for one year after we've handled your request, as a record that we did, then delete it.
• Photos you exported. Copies you shared or saved outside Leanmetry stay wherever you put them.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You can delete individual check-ins, workouts, nutrition logs, goals and progress photos in the app at any time. A deleted entry disappears from all of your devices.

Deleting an entry also removes its details from your cloud data. Leanmetry keeps only a small marker so the entry doesn't come back on another device: the entry's date (or a custom exercise's name) and when you deleted it. The markers are removed when you delete your account. If you deleted entries with an older version of Leanmetry, their details are removed the next time an updated version of the app syncs your account.

Progress photos are never uploaded, so deleting one removes it completely.

Signing out, uninstalling and deleting compared

Signing out or uninstalling never deletes your account. Only Delete account, or an email request, does.
